Early one Tuesday morning, a Dodge Durango SRT was reported stolen from the driveway of its owner in Will County. The theft was discovered around 7:00 AM, prompting the owner to immediately contact the Will County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies promptly entered the stolen vehicle into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database.

Fortunately, the Durango was equipped with a LoJack GPS tracking system, which the owner had purchased from the dealership when acquiring the vehicle. Shortly after reporting the theft to law enforcement, the owner also contacted the LoJack Call Center. The stolen vehicle was entered into the LoJack Law Enforcement application, a system actively monitored by police agencies.

Thanks to real-time tracking data from LoJack, detectives from the Illinois Statewide Auto Theft Task Force were able to quickly locate the stolen SUV in the City of Chicago. Upon approach, officers discovered that the Durango was occupied by two individuals who were armed with handguns. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident. Authorities confirmed that the Dodge Durango was recovered undamaged.

The investigation into the theft remains ongoing, and the identities of the suspects have not yet been released. Law enforcement officials praised the coordinated response and technology that led to the swift recovery of the vehicle and the safe apprehension of the suspects.
