A swift response from the Baltimore County Police Department and the Regional Auto Theft Task Force (RATT) led to the recovery of a stolen Honda Accord and the arrest of a suspect, all thanks to GPS tracking technology.

The theft occurred when the vehicle was stolen from a local body shop where it was undergoing repairs. The vehicle’s owner immediately contacted the police upon discovering the theft. Fortunately, the Honda Accord was equipped with a LoJack GPS tracking system, which is actively monitored by law enforcement agencies.

After receiving the report, the owner notified the LoJack Call Center, which promptly entered the vehicle’s information into the LoJack Law Enforcement app. Detectives from RATT quickly located the vehicle using the app, which showed the car parked on a residential street. A surveillance operation was set up at the location, and within a short time, a suspect returned to the stolen vehicle.

Officers moved in and successfully apprehended the individual without incident. The stolen vehicle was recovered undamaged, and the suspect is now in custody. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to examine the case.
